Plumber in Bainbridge Island, WA
Bainbridge is an island, and most people picture a boat when they picture a tradesman getting here. We come over the Agate Pass Bridge from the Poulsbo side, which means no terminal, no timetable, and no van sitting in a holding lane. Alex Cady is certified by the state for residential plumbing, and island jobs go in the diary like anywhere else on the peninsula.

Plumbing on |Bainbridge Island|
The bridge is the whole story and it is worth being blunt about it. A company working out of Seattle reaches you by ferry, which means their arrival window is really the sailing schedule plus whatever the queue is doing. When something has gone wrong in your house, that difference stops being an abstraction.
From our side the island is a straightforward drive north through Poulsbo and across Agate Pass. It is a normal call on a normal day, not an expedition that needs planning around a boat.
What We Handle on |Bainbridge|
Island houses run larger than the county average, so the biggest share of work is layout changes and added bathrooms under bathroom remodel plumbing, and correctly sizing units through traditional water heaters for houses with a lot of fixtures on one system.
Away from Winslow, private supply makes water filtration a regular conversation, and long-buried laterals bring sewer line repair with them.
Then the rest: aging supply runs through repiping and pipe repair, blockages under drain cleaning, hidden water traced by leak detection, and anything that will not wait through emergency plumbing.
What Island |Houses Deal With|
Sewer only goes so far. The city system covers Winslow and the ground immediately around it. Step outside that and the island runs on septic, which changes what a slow drain means and puts the tank and drainfield into every conversation about a backup. We clear lines and baffles; the system itself belongs to a different trade and we will say so when that is the answer.
The island drinks its own groundwater. Bainbridge sits on its own aquifers rather than piping water in, and shoreline properties carry the risk that comes with that: saltwater working its way in, chloride in the supply, and metal that does not last the way it should. Copper thins from the inside and water heaters give up early.
A lot of these houses are empty by half past seven. Ferry commuters are a large share of the island, which means the person who called is often across the water when we arrive. Access gets arranged in advance rather than assumed, and we would rather sort that on the phone than find a locked door.
Expectations here are higher and that is fair enough. Larger houses, better finishes, and owners who notice what a trade left behind. Shoe covers, drop cloths, and the old unit going out on our truck are not a flourish on this island; they are the baseline.
Areas We Work on |Bainbridge|
Winslow and the harbour, Eagledale to the south, Rolling Bay on the east shore, Port Madison up at the north end, Island Center in the middle, and Lynwood Center over toward Fort Ward.
The whole island is inside the radius. There is no part of it we treat as too far.
Getting |to You|
We take calls 7 to 7, Monday through Friday. Saturday and Sunday, nothing. Part of each weekday is kept unbooked for the things that cannot be scheduled, meaning a burst line, waste backing up, or a house with no water in it.
You will get a window, a price you agree to before work begins, and a full year covering both parts and labour afterwards. If nobody is going to be home, tell us when you book and we will work it out then.

10/10 Would recommend. A to Z plumbing came out to repair a busted water main for me as an emergency service. Alex and his team arrived within 15 minutes of my emergency and remained cool, calm and collected. They worked together to solve the problem quickly and efficiently. They were knowledgeable and professional from start to finish. I couldn’t be happier with their service and I will be using them again for future plumbing related services. A to Z plumbing had clear pricing that was consistent with their industry. If you want something done right, don”t do it yourself. Just call A to Z plumbing and enjoy your peace of mind.

Questions From |Bainbridge Homeowners|
Do you have to take the ferry to get here?
No, and this is the part people get wrong about us. Bainbridge joins the peninsula at Agate Pass and we drive over that bridge to get here. Boats are how Seattle arrives. They have never had anything to do with how we schedule a job.
I am outside Winslow. Am I on septic?
Almost certainly. City sewer covers Winslow and the ground around it, and the rest of the island is on onsite systems. It matters because a backup might be a blocked line, which is ours, or a full tank or failing drainfield, which is not. We find out which before anything gets cabled twice.
Why has my copper started leaking in several places?
On a shoreline property the usual answer is the water. The island draws from its own aquifers and intrusion can put chloride into supply near the water, which attacks copper from the inside. Once one pinhole appears the rest of the system has had the same treatment, so it is worth looking at the whole run rather than patching one spot.
Nobody is home during the day. Can you still come?
Yes, and it is common here given how many people commute across. Tell us when you book and we will sort access then, whether that means a key, a code, or a neighbour. What we would rather avoid is turning up to a locked house with your morning already spent.
Is there a charge to come out and quote?
None. Alex comes over, works out what is actually happening, and gives you the choices with a number against each one. Anything substantial is put in writing. No work begins before you have agreed the number.
What about weekends?
We do not work them. If a pipe goes on a Sunday, shut the water off at the main so it stops getting worse, leave us a message, and yours is handled early in the week.
