Emergency Plumber in Kitsap County, WA

If water is coming into your house right now, the most useful thing on this page is the next paragraph, not our phone number. A to Z keeps same-day slots open on weekdays for burst pipes, sewage backups, and houses with no water at all, throughout Kitsap, Mason, and Pierce County. Read the first section, stop the water, and then get in touch.

Right Now, Before |You Call Anyone|

Find the Main and Close It

Every minute the water is on is more damage. Your main shut-off is usually where the supply enters the house: in a crawl space, in the garage, in a utility room, or on an exterior wall near the front. Turn it clockwise until it stops. If it is a lever, a quarter turn to sit across the pipe closes it.

If the interior valve will not move or you cannot find it, there is a shut-off at the meter box near the street. That usually needs a meter key, and a large adjustable wrench will often do in a pinch.

Do not stand in water near outlets or an electrical panel. If water has reached wiring, appliances, or a panel, deal with the power before the plumbing, and call an electrician if you are unsure.

If It Is One Fixture

Most fixtures have their own stop. A toilet has a small valve on the wall behind it, sinks have stops in the cabinet, and a water heater has one on the cold inlet. Closing the right one isolates the problem while leaving the rest of the house with water, which matters if you have a household to run.

If it is the water heater, close the cold inlet on top of the unit, then kill the energy source. Switch off the breaker on an electric heater, or turn the gas control to off. A leaking tank will keep emptying afterward, which is fine; what you have stopped is the supply refilling it. Once it is safe, traditional water heaters cover what comes next.

What Counts |as an Emergency|

Water You Cannot Stop

A burst pipe, a failed supply line, or a fitting that has let go. These are the calls that justify dropping everything, because the damage compounds by the hour.

What you are paying for afterward is drywall, flooring, and framing rather than pipe, which is why an emergency plumber is worth calling before the water has been running all afternoon.

Sewage Backing Up

Stop running water anywhere in the house immediately. Every flush, every sink, and every load of laundry adds to whatever is already backing up. This is both an urgent call and a health matter, and it usually means the main line rather than the fixture it is appearing in. Clearing it is drain cleaning work, usually on the main.

No Water at All

First check whether it is only you. A neighbour with water points at something on your property; a whole street without points at the utility, and they will be working on it already. On a private well, no water is usually the pump or the pressure system rather than the plumbing.

What Can Usually Wait

A dripping tap, one slow drain, a running toilet, or a water heater that is cooler than it was. None of these are improving, and all of them are worth booking. What they are not is worth an emergency call-out, and we will tell you that on the phone rather than after.

When We Can |Actually Get There|

Our Hours, Said Plainly

We answer the phone 7 AM to 7 PM, Monday to Friday. We are closed Saturday and Sunday. A to Z is a small outfit rather than an operation with a night rota, and putting that on a web page beats leaving you waiting on a Saturday for a truck that was never coming.

Same-Day Slots

Weekday capacity is deliberately held back for urgent plumbing repair. That is what same-day plumbing service means here: not a promise to be there within the hour, but real slots kept open rather than a diary booked solid three weeks out.

Call early in the day and the odds are considerably better than calling at four in the afternoon.

Evenings, Weekends, and Overnight

If it happens outside our hours, the first section of this page is the answer. Shut the water off, leave a message, and yours is among the first calls handled when the phone comes on. A stopped leak at midnight and a plumber at 8 AM is a far better outcome than waiting up for someone.

What Makes Us |Quick Around Here|

No Ferry, No Narrows Bridge

Alex is based out here on the peninsula. An emergency plumber driving from Seattle or Tacoma has a boat or a bridge between them and your house, and both have a habit of being the reason a window gets missed. Our trucks start the morning already on the peninsula.

No Dispatch Queue

The person who answers is the one who turns up. There is no call centre taking a message for a regional office and no dispatcher deciding where the nearest van is. That is a limitation at 2 AM and it is an advantage at 2 PM, and both of those are worth being honest about.

What Goes |Wrong Around Here|

Freeze Damage

A cold snap produces a week of calls, and most of them arrive on the thaw. Pipes in crawl spaces, unheated garages, and exterior walls freeze, split, and then leak the moment they warm up and the water starts flowing again. Hose bibs with a hose still attached are the single most common casualty. Fixture repair and installation handles the sillcock afterward.

Backups on Septic-Served Properties

Out past the towns a backup may not be a line problem at all. A full tank, a clogged baffle, or a saturated drainfield produce the same symptom in the house as a blocked line does. We clear lines and baffles, and if the system itself is the problem we will say so rather than cabling it twice.

Afterward

Making Sure It Does Not Happen Again

Most emergencies had a warning nobody read. A supply line that had been weeping, a shut-off that has not turned in twenty years, a water heater past its date, or a line that had backed up twice already. When we are there for the urgent part, you will hear what the underlying cause looks like and what it would take to deal with it.

No pressure to do it that day. Emergencies are a poor moment to make a large decision, and we would rather quote it properly next week.

What Comes With the Call

The price before work starts, a full twelve months on parts and labor, and the site left clean even when nobody would blame us for leaving it otherwise. Urgent calls run right across Kitsap, into Mason, and over into Pierce. Any deals in play still apply on an urgent call.

Questions Homeowners Ask Before We Come Out

“We tell you the price before we start, give you options instead of an ultimatum.”
Alex Cady, Owner
Do you take calls at night or on weekends?

No. We are on the phone 7 AM to 7 PM Monday to Friday and closed Saturday and Sunday. We would rather say that plainly than take a booking we cannot keep. If something happens overnight, shut the water off and leave a message, and yours sits near the top of the list in the morning.

Close your main shut-off valve, which is usually where the supply enters the house, in a crawl space, garage, or utility room. If you cannot move it, there is a shut-off at the meter near the street. Once the water is off the damage stops getting worse, and everything after that can wait until morning.

The small valve on the wall behind the toilet, turned clockwise. If it will not move, lift the tank lid and push the flapper down by hand to stop water leaving the tank, or lift the float so the fill valve shuts. That buys you time to get to the main if you need it.

Yes, and the first thing to do is stop using water anywhere in the house, including the washing machine. It usually means a blockage in the main line rather than a problem with the shower. Do not run anything until it is cleared, because every drop added has nowhere to go except back up.

It depends what caused it. Check whether neighbours have water; if the whole street is dry, the utility already knows. If it is only your property, look at whether the main is fully open and, on a well, whether the pump has power. If none of that explains it, call us and we will work through it.

No, we are closed on weekends. Alex bowls competitively and those days are spoken for, which is a more honest answer than a vague one. Shut the water off, leave a message, and Monday morning is the earliest we can be there.
