Plumber in Gig Harbor, WA
The Narrows Bridge sits between Gig Harbor and Tacoma. It does not sit between Gig Harbor and us. We come down Highway 16 from the Kitsap side, so there is no crossing anywhere on the route. Alex Cady holds state certification for residential plumbing and runs this peninsula weekly.

Plumbing in |Gig Harbor|
Gig Harbor is a working harbour that turned into a small city without losing the bowl it sits in. The old waterfront runs along the water at the bottom, the town climbs the slopes around it, and the newer development spreads north along the highway.
Our route in is Highway 16 southbound from Port Orchard. Nothing on that road answers to a schedule, and there is no crossing to time.
What We Handle in |Gig Harbor|
A great deal of the housing here is now old enough for its original equipment to be failing, so traditional water heaters and fixture repair and installation make up a large share of the calls.
After those come the bigger jobs: reconfigured spaces under bathroom remodel plumbing, and tired supply systems renewed under repiping and pipe repair.
Everything else as it arises: leak detection where water is going somewhere unseen, drain cleaning on blocked lines, sewer line repair when a lateral gives out, and emergency plumbing for the rest.
What Gig Harbor |Houses Are Doing Now|
A lot of this town is reaching its first replacement cycle at once. The growth years put an enormous amount of housing in over a relatively short span, and the equipment that went into those houses has broadly the same service life. Water heaters, mixing valves, angle stops, and cartridges all start giving up around the same age, and around here that age arrived recently.
The practical consequence is demand. When a whole district reaches replacement at once, the plumbers covering it get busy in the same weeks, and the work that can be planned is worth booking earlier than you would otherwise think. Anything urgent still gets urgent treatment; it is the discretionary jobs that benefit from notice.
The old harbour front is a different kind of property entirely. Small original lots, buildings close to the water, and in places structures out over it. Runs are short, access is tight, and what can be dug or routed is constrained by how little ground there is between a building and the tideline. These are interesting jobs rather than difficult ones, but they are not quick ones.
Inside the city you are almost certainly served; outside it you may well not be. The unincorporated peninsula around the city runs on private wells and onsite systems, and the boundary is not always where people assume. That decides who to ring about a supply fault, and it changes what a backup probably signifies.
Areas We Work in |Gig Harbor|
The harbour front and downtown, Gig Harbor North up the highway, Rosedale west toward the water, Crescent Valley north of town, Artondale out toward the Narrows side, and Canterwood inland.
The whole peninsula is normal territory. Being in another county does not make it a special trip.
Getting |to You|
Weekday hours are 7am to 7pm, and neither weekend day is a working one. Capacity stays free each day for the unplannable, and given how busy replacement season gets here, anything that can be scheduled is better scheduled early.
What you get: a stated arrival window, a price agreed before a tool is lifted, and a twelve month guarantee across parts and workmanship. Protection down on floors, and the room handed back clean.

Alex and Michael have done outstanding work on three different plumbing issues. They respond quickly to scheduling work, show up on time, and work efficiently. They are very knowledgeable about each issue I presented. They quote pricing up front so there are no surprises. They are fair in their pricing. They are friendly and always leave a clean work area. 10/10 Would recommend. A to Z plumbing came out to repair a busted water main for me as an emergency service. Alex and his team arrived within 15 minutes of my emergency and remained cool, calm and collected. They worked together to solve the problem quickly and efficiently. They were knowledgeable and professional from start to finish. I couldn’t be happier with their service and I will be using them again for future plumbing related services. A to Z plumbing had clear pricing that was consistent with their industry. If you want something done right, don”t do it yourself. Just call A to Z plumbing and enjoy your peace of mind.

Questions From |Gig Harbor Homeowners|
You are based in Kitsap. Does that mean a longer wait?
The opposite, usually. Highway 16 runs south from us straight into Gig Harbor with no water crossing on it at all. The peninsula is on the weekly map rather than being an occasional trip, and same-day slots are kept open here just as they are everywhere else we cover.
Our house is about twenty-five years old and things keep failing. Is that normal?
Entirely. Twenty to thirty years is when a lot of original equipment reaches the end of its life, and it tends to go in a cluster rather than one item at a time. The efficient approach is dealing with several at one visit rather than paying for a call-out each time something small lets go.
How far ahead should we book non-urgent work?
Further than you would expect, particularly in the busier months. So much of the housing here hit replacement age together that demand concentrates. Emergencies are always handled as emergencies, but a planned job booked with notice gets a better slot than one booked for next week.
We are on the old waterfront. Is work there more difficult?
More involved rather than more difficult. Tight access, short runs, very little ground between the building and the water, and sometimes structures sitting over it. It changes how long a job takes and what can physically be routed, so it is worth mentioning the setting when you book.
Are we on city services or on a well and septic?
Inside the city, almost certainly served. On the unincorporated peninsula around it, private wells and onsite systems are common and the boundary is not always obvious from the street. Worth knowing before something goes wrong rather than during.
What happens with a weekend emergency?
Close the main to stop the damage where it stands, then send a message through. We run Monday to Friday, so attendance means the start of the week, though getting the water off is what determines how big the repair ends up being.
