Plumber in Silverdale, WA

Silverdale is about as close to home as our work gets. A to Z is a residential plumbing company run by Alex Cady, a Washington certified plumber based just south of here, and Silverdale is one of the three towns that fill most of the week. Water heaters, drains, repipes, leaks, and same-day emergency calls, with the price agreed before anything starts.

Plumbing in |Silverdale|

Silverdale is central Kitsap, and it is where a good share of the county actually lives. Unincorporated, built out around the mall and the Bucklin Hill corridor, and spread from the Dyes Inlet waterfront up over Ridgetop and Newberry Hill.

Alex works out of Bremerton, which makes Silverdale a ten to fifteen minute run rather than a trip. There is no ferry in the way, no bridge, and no stretch of Highway 16. That matters most on the days when something has gone wrong and the question is how soon somebody can get there.

What We Handle in |Silverdale|

Residential work only, across the full range:

Tank replacement and repair through traditional water heaters, conversions and descaling on tankless water heaters, and blocked kitchen and main lines through drain cleaning.

Camera scoping and repairs under sewer line repair, hidden water tracked down by leak detection, failing supply lines replaced through repiping and pipe repair, rough-in to trim-out on bathroom remodel plumbing, and burst pipes or no water at all under emergency plumbing.

What Silverdale |Houses Actually Need|

Silverdale is a newer town than its neighbours, and that changes what goes wrong. Much of Bremerton and Port Orchard is pre-war and mid-century, with galvanized supply lines and cast iron drain stacks at the end of their lives. A large share of Silverdale went up during the growth years from the late seventies onward, which puts it squarely in the polybutylene era.

Grey polybutylene is the one to know about. It was used widely in that period, it gives very little warning before a fitting lets go, and finding it in a Silverdale crawl space is a reason to plan rather than panic. Early PEX and copper from the same decades turn up alongside it.

The ground matters too. Clear Creek runs down the middle of town into Dyes Inlet, and the low ground on either side of it holds water through the wet season. Crawl spaces near the creek and along the flats take on groundwater in a way the houses up on Ridgetop simply do not.

Water supply is split. Much of Silverdale proper is on the water district, while properties out toward Seabeck, Chico, and the unincorporated edges draw from private wells. That changes everything downstream of the meter: untreated well water is harder on anode rods, fixture cartridges, and copper than treated district supply is.

Areas We Work in |Silverdale|

Old Town and the waterfront down by Silverdale Waterfront Park, Ridgetop up the hill, Bucklin Hill and the corridor behind the Kitsap Mall, Newberry Hill on the west side, Island Lake to the north, and Chico on the way down toward the highway.

If your address is somewhere between those and you are not sure, it is inside the radius. Silverdale is not a town we drive out to.

Getting |to You|

Weekdays, 7 in the morning until 7 at night. Nothing on Saturday or Sunday. Urgent capacity is deliberately kept free each weekday, and Silverdale is the easiest part of the county to drop one of those slots into because of how close it sits.

You will be given a window, not a half day. The number is agreed with you before a tool comes out, and twelve months of cover on parts and labour sits behind whatever gets done. Covers go on at the door and the space gets left tidy, whether the visit runs two hours or two days.

Questions |From Silverdale Homeowners|

“We tell you the price before we start, give you options instead of an ultimatum.”

How quickly can you get to Silverdale?

Faster than almost anywhere else we work, because the base sits a few minutes south. Weekday urgent capacity gets held back on purpose, and Silverdale addresses are the simplest to fit into it. Ringing first thing helps a great deal.

Polybutylene supply pipe, most of all. Grey, flexible, often stamped PB2110, and common in construction from that period. It tends to fail at fittings without warning. Have a look wherever the pipe is exposed, by the heater or under the floor. Replacing it on your own timetable beats replacing it on its.

Most addresses in Silverdale proper are on district supply. Out toward Chico, Seabeck, and the unincorporated edges, private wells are common. It matters because untreated well water is harder on water heaters, fixture cartridges, and copper. If you are not sure, your bill will tell you, and we can test the water either way.

If you are on the low ground near Clear Creek or along the flats toward Dyes Inlet, that is groundwater rather than a plumbing fault. It arrives with the rain and leaves when things dry out. A sump pump is the answer for that. Water present in August is a different problem and worth having looked at.

No charge for it. Alex comes out, sees what is actually happening, and lays out the choices with a figure against each one. Bigger jobs come with a written bid you can take your time over. Nothing begins on a number you have not signed off.

No. The weekend is closed. If something lets go outside our hours, get the main shut off to stop the damage spreading and leave us a message. It gets picked up first thing Monday.
