Plumber in Kingston, WA

Kingston has a ferry dock in the middle of it, which leads people to assume their plumber is coming off a boat and charging for the crossing. Ours is not. Alex Cady carries a Washington residential plumbing certificate and drives up from central Kitsap, the same as for any other job on the peninsula.

Plumbing in |Kingston|

Kingston faces north across Appletree Cove, and the dock is the centre of gravity for the whole north end. The village, the Village Green, and the waterfront sit either side of it, with residential ground spreading east toward President Point and west up the Hansville road.

For us it is a run north through Poulsbo and along the highway. No sailing involved, no schedule to work around, and no surcharge for the privilege of arriving.

What We Handle in |Kingston|

Given how much of the housing here grew in stages, the two that come up most are repiping and pipe repair where old and new runs meet badly, and hidden water found through leak detection.

After those: sizing and replacing units under traditional water heaters, conversions through tankless water heaters, and blockages under drain cleaning.

Then lateral faults under sewer line repair, layout changes through bathroom remodel plumbing, and anything that cannot be left under emergency plumbing.

What Kingston |Houses Are Hiding|

A great many of these started as summer places. The north shore filled up with cabins, and over forty or fifty years most of them became houses: a bathroom added here, a kitchen moved there, a bedroom wing put on by somebody’s brother-in-law in 1987.

What that leaves behind a wall is a plumbing system nobody ever designed. Galvanized meeting copper meeting whatever was cheapest that decade, supply lines sized for one bathroom now feeding three, and shut-off valves in places that made sense to somebody once. It is the single most common thing we find in Kingston, and it is why a leak here is often a symptom of a joint between two eras rather than a failure of either.

The water often comes from a small system, not a district. Communities out here run their own supply, and Driftwood Key, President Point and similar developments have done so for decades. Pressure, hardness, and who to ring when something changes are all different from a county connection, and it is worth knowing which you are on before assuming a problem is inside your own walls.

Kingston is also where the far north end comes to. Eglon, the Hansville road, and the places past them have no real alternative, so when we are up here we are usually up here for the day rather than for one call.

Areas We Work Around |Kingston|

Kingston village and the waterfront, Apple Tree Point east along the shore, Driftwood Key out on the spit, President Point south toward the bluff, White Horse inland, and Eglon up the north road.

Anywhere between those counts. The far north end is covered rather than tolerated.

Getting |to You|

Phones answered 7am to 7pm, Monday through Friday. On weekends, we are not working. Urgent weekday capacity is kept free deliberately, and north end calls tend to get grouped so the drive is doing more than one job.

You get an arrival window, a figure settled before anyone starts, and twelve months behind both the parts and the labour. The house gets left the way we found it.

Questions From |Kingston Homeowners|

“We tell you the price before we start, give you options instead of an ultimatum.”
Alex Cady, Owner
Do you charge extra because of the ferry?

There is no ferry involved. We drive up from central Kitsap through Poulsbo, which is the same kind of trip as any other job on this side of the water. Nothing about Kingston is priced differently for distance or for a crossing that we never make.

Not worried, but worth knowing. Houses that grew in stages usually have several generations of pipe joined together, and the joins are where things go. Having someone trace what is actually in the walls means a repipe becomes a decision you make rather than an emergency you react to.

It changes who to ring about pressure or a supply interruption, which is your system rather than us. What it does not change is anything downstream of your meter, which is ours. If you are unsure where the boundary sits on your property, we can point it out while we are there.

North end work usually gets grouped, so the honest answer depends on the day. Urgent weekday calls get priority and we hold capacity for them. For anything planned, booking a little further ahead tends to get you a better slot than the county average.

Yes. Alex looks at the actual problem, then talks you through what could be done and what each route would cost. Anything sizable goes in writing. Work starts only on a figure you have signed off.

Closed, so Monday is the honest answer. Kill the water at the main so it stops getting worse, then message us. Yours will be among the first handled when the week opens.
