Plumber in Manchester, WA
Manchester is two kinds of property in one small place: houses sitting more or less on the beach, and houses stacked up the slope behind them. The plumbing questions are different at each level. Alex Cady holds Washington certification for residential plumbing, and this stretch of shoreline is part of the regular round.

Plumbing in |Manchester|
Manchester sits on Rich Passage looking north, tucked into the shoreline south of the inlet mouth. The village and the waterfront are at sea level, the State Park is round to the north, and most of the rest of the housing climbs the hill behind.
For us it is a straightforward run out from Port Orchard along the shore road. Short, direct, and nothing on the route that depends on a schedule other than ours.
What We Handle in |Manchester|
At beach level the work skews toward sump pumps for crawl spaces that take water in winter, and blockages under drain cleaning.
Then the usual run of work: units replaced through traditional water heaters, water going astray found by leak detection, and old supply runs dealt with under repiping and pipe repair.
Plus lateral faults through sewer line repair, bathrooms reconfigured under bathroom remodel plumbing. For anything that will not hold overnight, emergency plumbing.
What Manchester |Properties Run Into|
For somewhere this small, Manchester is unusually well served. Water and sewer both reach the community, which is not what people expect from an unincorporated spot on the south Kitsap shore. It also means the boundary matters: properties a short distance outside the served area are on their own well, their own septic, or both, and the difference changes what a backup means and who you call about it.
Beach-level crawl spaces see water, and it is usually not a plumbing fault. On a big winter high tide with a southerly pushing behind it, low ground near the shore takes on water regardless of what your pipes are doing. It arrives with the weather and the tide and it leaves again. That is a pump question rather than a leak question, and the two get confused often enough to be worth saying.
Up the hill, the issue is pressure. Houses at the top of a slope sit at the far end of a main and at the top of a lift, and both cost you something at the tap. Sometimes the fix is a pressure problem worth solving properly, sometimes it is an old galvanized run that has narrowed, and sometimes it is a partly closed valve nobody has touched in years. Worth finding out which before spending money on the wrong one.
The old lots are tight. Shoreline plots here are narrow and the houses sit close together, which affects where a truck can stand, how a line can be routed around a fault, and what can realistically be dug without affecting a neighbour.
Areas We Work Around |Manchester|
Manchester village and the waterfront itself, the State Park end to the north, Colby just south, Harper along the shore, and Yukon Harbor round the bay.
Anywhere on that stretch of shoreline is a normal call for us, not an outlying one.
Getting |to You|
Monday to Friday, from seven until seven. Neither weekend day. Every weekday keeps a little room for the unplanned: a line that has let go, waste that will not clear, or nothing at all coming out of the taps.
You get a time window rather than a whole day, the number settled with you before anything begins, and a full year standing behind the parts and the labour. Floors covered, and the place left the way it was.

Alex and Michael have done outstanding work on three different plumbing issues. They respond quickly to scheduling work, show up on time, and work efficiently. They are very knowledgeable about each issue I presented. They quote pricing up front so there are no surprises. They are fair in their pricing. They are friendly and always leave a clean work area. 10/10 Would recommend. A to Z plumbing came out to repair a busted water main for me as an emergency service. Alex and his team arrived within 15 minutes of my emergency and remained cool, calm and collected. They worked together to solve the problem quickly and efficiently. They were knowledgeable and professional from start to finish. I couldn’t be happier with their service and I will be using them again for future plumbing related services. A to Z plumbing had clear pricing that was consistent with their industry. If you want something done right, don”t do it yourself. Just call A to Z plumbing and enjoy your peace of mind.

Questions From |Manchester Homeowners|
Water appears under my house every winter. Is a pipe leaking?
Usually not. Down near the beach, a big high tide with a southerly behind it puts water into low ground whatever your plumbing is doing, and it drains away again afterward. Timing gives it away: if it follows the weather and the tide, the water came from outside and a pump is what deals with it. Water sitting there in August is a different matter and worth looking at properly.
Am I on the water and sewer system, or on a well and septic?
The community itself is served, which surprises people given how small it is. Properties a little outside that area are on their own arrangements. If you are not sure which side of the line you sit on, it is worth establishing now rather than while a drain is backing up.
Our pressure is poor and we are at the top of the hill. Why?
Elevation is part of it, because getting water uphill costs pressure and a house at the top of a slope is at the end of that climb. But it is often not the only cause. Narrowed old galvanized pipe and valves that are not fully open both do the same thing, and those are fixable. The first job is working out which of the three you actually have.
How quickly can you get out to Manchester?
Quickly. It is a short run out from Port Orchard along the shore, with nothing on the way that can hold a van up. Urgent weekday calls have capacity held for them and Manchester is an easy address to reach.
Our lot is narrow and the neighbour's house is close. Does that matter?
It affects the practicalities more than the possibility. Access decides where the truck sits and what gear comes off it, and a tight plot limits how a repair can be routed around a problem underground. Mention it when you book and the right kit arrives the first time.
What if something goes at the weekend?
Get the water off at the main straight away, because that is what stops the damage growing. Then leave us a message. Saturday and Sunday are closed, so realistically it is Monday, though the shut-off is what limits the damage.
