Plumber in Seabeck, WA
Seabeck has no sewer main and no water main, so every house out here runs on its own well and its own septic system. That changes what goes wrong and what fixing it involves. Alex Cady is certified for residential plumbing in Washington and works the west side of the county, and rural property makes up a good part of the week.

Plumbing in |Seabeck|
Seabeck sits on the Hood Canal shore, west of everything. The old mill village and the marina are the centre of it, and the rest spreads out across large lots, up the hill behind, and down the bluffs toward the water.
It is a twenty minute run out the Seabeck Highway for us, which is a normal drive rather than a trek. Nobody is crossing water to get here, and nobody is deciding whether the job is far enough out to be worth the trip.
What We Handle in |Seabeck|
Untreated water drives most of the list. Testing and treating what comes out of the ground under water filtration, and replacing the units that water wears out early through traditional water heaters.
Then the consequences of the same chemistry: thinned copper found by leak detection, and failing runs replaced under repiping and pipe repair.
Alongside those: blocked lines and baffles through drain cleaning, the run between house and tank under sewer line repair, layout work through bathroom remodel plumbing, and anything urgent under emergency plumbing.
What Seabeck |Properties Run Into|
The six-year water heater is the Seabeck story. Rust-coloured staining in the sinks, a tank that gave up years before its warranty said it should, and an owner who assumed they bought a bad unit. They usually did not. Untreated groundwater out here carries iron and manganese and tends to be low in alkalinity, which strips the sacrificial anode inside the tank and then
That is not a reason to be alarmed about your water. It is a reason to have it tested, because once you know the numbers the fix is straightforward and the next heater lasts the way it should.
Nothing here is on a main. No sewer, no water district. A blocked drain might be the line to the tank, a tank sitting full, or a field that has given up taking water, and each of those wants a different answer. We clear lines and baffles. The tank and the field are somebody else’s trade and we will tell you when that is where it has gone.
A lot of these places are empty half the year. Cabins and second homes along the canal get shut up in October and opened again in spring, and the ones that were not drained down properly are the ones we hear about in March. Freeze damage does not announce itself while nobody is there.
Getting to the house is part of the job. Long private driveways down the bluff, gravel, tight turns, and a fair distance from where a truck can sit to where the work is. Worth mentioning when you call so the right gear comes on the first trip.
Areas We Work in |Around Seabeck|
Seabeck village and the marina, Scenic Beach along the shore, Big Beef Creek on the way in, Crosby inland to the south, Holly further down the canal, and Wildcat Lake over toward Silverdale.
If you are somewhere between those on a road that does not appear on most maps, that is still us. Rural west Kitsap is a normal part of the week.
Getting |to You|
Weekdays only, seven till seven. Nothing Saturday or Sunday. Part of every weekday is held open for the calls that cannot wait, and Seabeck runs are planned so the far-out addresses are not always last.
You will get a window, a number agreed before the work starts, and a year covering both parts and labour afterward. Boots covered, cloths down, and the place left as it was found.

10/10 Would recommend. A to Z plumbing came out to repair a busted water main for me as an emergency service. Alex and his team arrived within 15 minutes of my emergency and remained cool, calm and collected. They worked together to solve the problem quickly and efficiently. They were knowledgeable and professional from start to finish. I couldn’t be happier with their service and I will be using them again for future plumbing related services. Questions From |Seabeck Homeowners|
Why did my water heater only last six years out here?
Almost certainly the water rather than the unit. Groundwater around Seabeck tends to carry iron and manganese and to be low in alkalinity, and that combination strips the sacrificial rod inside the tank. With that gone, corrosion works on the lining itself. Testing establishes the numbers, and treating the water is what buys the next unit its full life.
Do you come out this far?
Yes, regularly. It is about twenty minutes out the Seabeck Highway from where we are based, on this side of the water the whole way. We do not treat west Kitsap as an outlying area or price it as one.
My drain is backing up and I am on septic. Where do I start?
Stop running water into the system, then call. It might be the run out to the tank, a blocked baffle, a tank at capacity, or a field no longer taking water. The first pair are ours to fix. The second pair are not, and we say so plainly instead of billing you to cable the same line twice.
We only use the place in summer. How should it be shut down?
Properly drained down, which means more than turning a tap off. Supply lines emptied, the heater dealt with, traps protected, and the main closed. Getting it wrong is how a cabin gets opened in March to a split line and a wet floor. We do this work, and the bill for doing it is a small fraction of the bill for not doing it.
Our driveway is steep and narrow. Is that a problem?
Not usually, but tell us when you book. Knowing what the access looks like decides what comes on the truck and how long to allow, and it is the difference between a job finished on the first visit and a second trip for the right equipment.
What about weekends?
We are closed. If a pipe lets go on a Saturday, shut the water off at the main so the damage stops there, and send us a message. Monday morning is when it gets dealt with.
